Handout picture released by the Vilnius City Municipality shows Arturas Zuokas, the 43-year-old mayor of Lithuanian capital Vilnius, driving an armoured vehicle over a Mercedes S-class parked on a cycle lane in downtown Vilnius. Zuokas has decided to take a novel approach of fighting illegally parked cars. A spokeswoman for the mayor said,."The car was brought in especially for this clip."

Alexander Pylyshenko pets African lioness Katya in his private Zoo in his yard in the small Ukrainian city of Vasylivka, some 500km from Kiev. Pylyshenko is going to live together with the couple of African lions Katya and Samson in their open-air cage during the next 35 days and nights to raise money for his zoo keeping and to attract public attention to the poor conditions of wild animal husbandry in Ukraine's private zoos.

A dead fish decays on the dry bed of O.C. Fisher Lake in San Angelo, Texas. The 5,440 acre lake established to provide flood control and serve as a secondary drinking water source for San Angelo and the surrounding communities is now dry following an extended drought in the region.
