    candel Aaj mere shab-e-furqat kii sahar aa_ii hai aaj me

    Aaj mere shab-e-furqat kii sahar aayee hai
    muddaton baad teri raahaguzar aayee hai.

    Dekh to liijiye mere Khuun-e-tamannaa ki bahaar
    jis ki surkhiyan meri aankhon main utar aayee hai.

    Tune to tark-e-muhabbat ki qasam khaa_li thi
    kyon teri aankh mujhe dekh ke bhar aayee hai

    Unke pairaahan-e-rangeen ki mahak hai
    is main aaj kyaa baad-e-sabaa hoke udhar aayee hai.

    Is main kuchh unki jafaayen bhi to shaamil hain 'Shamim' bevafayee ki jo tohamat mere sar aayee hai.
