Redknapp backs Neville in AVB row
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has launched a staunch defence of Gary Neville, effectively telling Chelsea coach Andre Villas-Boas to stop complaining about the Sky Sports pundit.
Neville incurred the wrath of Villas-Boas for likening David Luiz to being "controlled by a ten-year-old in the crowd on a Playstation" during the Blues' defeat to Liverpool in November.
Villas-Boas hit back at Neville and has continued his war of words with the former Manchester United and England defender - claiming he would love a face-to-face meeting to get his point across.
Redknapp, whose Tottenham side face Chelsea on Thursday, feels Villas-Boas has made a mistake by allowing Neville to get under his skin, claiming Neville is only doing his job as a pundit by voicing an opinion.
"That is what pundits are paid to do," Redknapp said. "They come on TV and if they did not have an opinion they would be no good being on there.
"They have to say what they think. You can't have the praise one minute and then not like it when you get a bit of criticism.
"You've got to take it all or not at all. You can't just take the stuff when they say how good you are and what a wonderful coach you are. You just have to get on with it.
"Gary Neville gets paid to have an opinion, doesn't he? He's on there, talking about football."
