Webber enjoys return to work
Mark Webber says that he is pleased to be back working on the new RB8 following a prolonged winter break.
Following his victory in Brazil at the end of 2011 Webber remained in Australia over the Christmas and New Year period. He returned to Red Bull this week to meet the nightshift workers as the team adopts a 24-hour approach ahead of the start of pre-season testing, and admitted that it was strange returning to the simulator after such a spell away from the factory.
"A little bit yeah but you soon get into it pretty quick," Webber told the Red Bull Racing website. "Dealing with the guys on a technical aspect, it all comes back to us pretty quickly. It was certainly good to be back in and starting work and improving and working out what we need to do to make the car as quick as possible."
Red Bull announced last week that Webber will be first to drive the new car at the first pre-season test at Jerez on February 7.
