Jan Ullrich receives doping ban
Former Tour de France winner Jan Ullrich has been handed a two-year ban by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in relation to doping.
Ullrich, who became the first German to win Le Tour when he triumphed in 1997 - and who remains the only cyclist from his country to have won the race - has had all of his results since 2005 annulled as a result of the CAS ruling.
The 38-year-old, who retired from cycling in 2007, was ruled by the CAS to have been linked with the Spanish-based doping probe Operation Puerta.
Ullrich's 2005 Tour de France third-placed finish has been wiped from the record books as a result of the ruling, and he is technically banned until August 2013.
