David Moyes has doused fears over Louis Saha returning to haunt former club Everton this weekend, revealing he and Harry Redknapp have shaken on an agreement that the Frenchman will not play.

Saha joined Spurs in a surprise deadline day transfer in January, leaving Everton for free. He has made a fine start to life at White Hart Lane, with three league goals in four appearances, but he will not feature this weekend.

Moyes claims Redknapp agreed not to play Saha against Everton as part of an unofficial deal struck at the time of the player's transfer. And the Scot expects his counterpart to remain true to his word.

Asked if he feared Saha's return, Moyes replied: "No because I think I've got an agreement with Harry that he doesn't play. Louis doesn't play unless Tottenham have got lots of injuries. Next question please!"

The suggestion was put to Moyes that it would be against Premier League rules to have it written into the contract that Saha could not play against a certain club. The Everton manager's response was to clarify that the agreement was merely between two coaches who hold a mutual respect for one another.

"If you're a gentleman it's allowed isn't it?" Moyes said. "Gentlemen shake hands and do things some times. But if he needs him, he'll play."

Moyes may want to check his facts with Redknapp though, who confirmed on Friday that Saha "is available" and "is looking forward to playing".
