Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has urged his team-mates to use the momentum generated from a "massive" point against Stoke to sink Chelsea in this weekend's battle for a place in the top four of the Premier League.

Harry Redknapp's side were hurtling towards a fourth consecutive Premier League loss until Van der Vaart's last-gasp header earned them a point against Stoke at White Hart Lane in midweek.

Spurs head to Stamford Bridge on Saturday in fourth place - having been leapfrogged by rivals Arsenal - and five points in front of fifth-place Chelsea.

Ahead of the fixture, Van der Vaart has stressed the importance of an improved performance against Roberto Di Matteo's men, who were beaten late at Manchester City last time out.

"It was a hard game [against Stoke], we played a bad game - including myself - but it could be a massive point," Van der Vaart told Spurs' official website. "The game against Chelsea is important because if we can win then we'll be stronger in fourth place.

"Everyone knows we need to play better against Chelsea otherwise we won't have a chance, but we will fight until the end."
