City hit with UEFA fine
Manchester City have been fined €30,000 (£24,740) by UEFA for delaying the start of the second half of their Europa League last 16 first leg with Sporting Lisbon last month.
City were punished by UEFA's disciplinary committee for returning late for the second half of the game at the Jose Alvalade Stadium on March 8.
Sporting won the game 1-0 and progressed on the away goals rule after a 3-2 win by City in the return leg.
A UEFA spokesman confirmed City had been informed of the punishment and that the Premier League side had three days to appeal against the fine.
