Chelsea confirm Marko Marin signing
Chelsea have announced that Werder Bremen attacker Marko Marin will join the club at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old Germany international has agreed personal terms with the Stamford Bridge outfit and will transfer between the sides for an undisclosed fee.
Reports in Germany suggest that Blues striker Romelu Lukaku will move in the other direction on a loan deal until the end of next season.
Marin, who can play anywhere across the midfield, has 16 caps and one goal for his nation since making his debut in 2008.
Injures have hindered Marin's 2011/12 season and he has made just 21 appearances, hitting the back of the net once.
Marin joined Werder in 2009 after beginning his career at Borussia Monchengladbach. He won the European Under-21 Championship with Germany in the same year.
His arrival will increase speculation that Salomon Kalou, whose contract runs out this summer, is on his way out of Chelsea.
The transfer of Marin has taken place despite the fact Chelsea do not currently have a full-time manager - although interim boss Roberto Di Matteo, who has led the club to the Champions League and FA Cup finals, looks to have a fine chance of landing the post.
