Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has reiterated his desire to retain the services of Emmanuel Adebayor, but feels Manchester City will have to play ball for a deal to happen.

Adebayor joined Spurs on a season-long loan last summer and has made a positive impression at White Hart Lane. The forward is due to head back to City after Sunday's final game of the season, but he is likely to be surplus to requirements at Eastlands.

Redknapp would be happy to call on Adebayor next term, but requires the help and negotiating skills of chairman Daniel Levy to make it happen.

"We love him here," Redknapp said of Adebayor. "He's been great for us.

"Only the chairman can deal with that one. He can deal with the financial situation. His (Adebayor's) wages would be a big problem. But if Daniel can pull off a deal with City like last year, we would love to have him here."
