Di Matteo sees changes on horizon at Chelsea
Roberto Di Matteo has admitted he remains in the dark about his future, but feels a radical overhaul may be on the horizon at Chelsea if they lose to Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.
The Italian has won widespread praise for turning Chelsea's season around since replacing Andre Villa-Boas. He has led the Blues to the Champions League final and masterminded an FA Cup final win, but could only guide them to sixth in the Premier League.
Di Matteo has admitted sixth is not acceptable for a club of Chelsea's stature and feels changes could be on the horizon.
"If we don't win, I guess we'll need to reassess the situation," Di Matteo said. "After the last game, the people at the club will sit down together and make the right decisions for the future.
"Those decisions involve what changes they want to make to the technical and playing staff. It's not one to discuss now."
Looking at his own position, Di Matteo said: "I don't know what will happen after the Champions League final. It's too far ahead and there are more important things to think about.
"There's no reason for me to have spoken to anyone yet. When it's the right time to think about these issues, I will do."
