West Brom defender Jonas Olsson is to hold talks about his future at the club after returning to the UK in the aftermath of Sweden's elimination from Euro 2012.

357322 - West Brom will hold talks with Olsson

Olsson, 29 - who has a year to run on his current deal - had told the Baggies he would not be thinking about what happened next at the Hawthorns while Sweden were involved in the tournament.

Now they have been knocked out, the new West Brom boss Steve Clarke plans to hold talks with Olsson, who has been linked with a switch to Tottenham - although the Baggies deny receiving any approaches for him.

"I didn't want to intrude too much because Jonas was out there representing his country and it was a big tournament for him," Clarke told the Wolverhampton Express and Star.

"Hopefully between now and the report back for training date, I'll get the chance to meet him and have a chat with him.

"Ideally, I want to keep all the contracted players and bring in another two or three that can help them. Jonas is a key player for the team and the club, and I'll do what I can to keep him here."
