Younis Khan has been snapped up by PTV as an expert for the upcoming series and T20 World Cup.

Former captain Younis Khan, who was dropped today for the ODI series against Australia, has been snapped up by Pakistan Television Corporation as an expert for the upcoming series and T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka.

Media reports quoting sources say Younis, himself, was aware that he might be dropped for the Australia series and had been negotiating with the channel for a while.

"He was given a good offer to appear as an expert and since he is no longer required for the Australia series and does not feature in the T20 World Cup squad the Pakistan cricket Board also has no objections to his foray into the media," the source said.

The national selectors dropped Younis for the one-day series against Australia after he struggled for runs on the recent tour of Sri Lanka.

In recent years there has been a growing trend for channels to rope in either former players or preferably playing members of the Pakistan team for a big series or event.

Another source said that former captain Salman Butt, who was serving a five year ban from the ICC, and former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar were two other players in demand to work as experts for the T20 World Cup.
