If you check my User Agent, I am currently using Firefox 18 with many many new features.
Also these are not for user point of view features, mostly for Web Developer and as for In Content UI, it is experimental and it is already more likely rejected and new proposal is based on Addons Manager UI.

Biggest feature of Firefox 15 is "Addons Memory Leaks Fix", which will improve memory usage condition for multiple addons users.

Trust me on this that Firefox 16 will be much better for hang issues you use to face because it has "Incremental Garbage Collection" (more like removing hooks of Javascript after JS engine finish hooking). It will reduce your frequent pauses on Javascript heavy website. It has smaller right context menu which means better user experience, removal of aero UI from doorhangers and panels and several other snappy improvements and best of the best "per tab memory reporting" (in about:memory).

October 9th is the date of next version release, exact 6 weeks after this. Also Firefox 15 has background update feature, so you will not notice it next time.

Update method
Before FF15: Download > Restart > Apply
After FF15: Download > Apply > Restart

It saved one progress bar showing to user and made it more silent for us.
