David Hussey squeezed out of side

David Hussey cannot command a place in Australia's first-choice side for the World Twenty20 despite being the most prolific run scorer in T20 history. Hussey has fallen out of favour with the national selectors over the past few games, having been dropped from the third match against Pakistan in Dubai earlier this month and left out of Australia's two warm-ups against New Zealand and England in Sri Lanka.

Nobody in world cricket has scored more T20 runs than Hussey's 4670 and only Albie Morkel has played more matches in the format than the 189 Hussey has taken part in. But Australia's selectors have preferred Hussey's Victorian team-mate Glenn Maxwell in the role of power-hitting offspinning allrounder, although the coach Mickey Arthur said Hussey could yet play a part in the tournament.

Pakistan's pathetic performance with the bat proves the point I made in the earlier game. They failed to chase 112 runs. In fact they were unable to reach three figures.

Australia is brave enough to drop David Hussey who is unarguably the best batsman in their lineup. Pakistan however do not have the guts to drop Shahid Afridi who has been under performing for the last 1 year set aside his entire career. What a shame.

Imran Nazir, another super star who fails in every game he plays but still is the sweetheart of 180 million people.

Abdul Razzaq failed today, he failed in the last T20 against Australia. Apparently there is some 'Misbah' he is trying to pull-off which for starters does not ever work. 12 runs off 18 balls and then you get OUT. Hats off to you Mister.

It is either all that or our world-class batting line-up just fell prey to an outstanding English bowling. In either case, there are still better bowling lineups in this World T20 Cup so we better be ready for such hiccups.
