37766 - Drogba Chelsea's best

Didier Drogba has been voted the greatest ever Chelsea player in a poll by the club's official magazine.

The Ivorian's last act as a Chelsea player was to score the penalty against Bayern Munich which won the club's first ever Champions League in May, completing a series of big games in which he had a major influence and sealing his place at the top of the list ahead of the likes of Frank Lampard, Peter Osgood, Gianfranco Zola and John Terry.

After the announcement, Drogba stated on Twitter: "Thanks to all the fans who voted for me, I feel really honoured and proud as so many big players have been at the club before me and also at the same time as me.

"To be voted alongside these big names is an absolute privilege for me, it really is. When I joined the club, I came to play my part. I am really happy to have been a part of Chelsea history and to get this award is amazing."
Aside from winning the Champions League, three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, four League Cups and scoring 157 goals in 341 games, Drogba also became the first African player to hit 100 goals in the Premier League and won the competition's Golden Boot twice.
