Walcott doubt for England
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that forward Theo Walcott is a doubt for England's friendly against Sweden next week after suffering a muscle injury in Saturday's 3-3 draw with Fulham.
Walcott, handed his first Premier League start since the opening day of the season, made an instant impact on the game and set up Olivier Giroud from a corner for his first goal.
However, the winger suffered a late injury and was replaced by Andrei Arshavin in the 85th minute, placing him in doubt for his country on Wednesday.
"Walcott has a glute muscle problem,'' said Wenger. "We nearly took him off at half-time, he nearly went down, but we left him on and on.
"In the end, it got worse and worse. At the moment, he is limping so I do not know whether he will be able to join the national team or not.''
