The Catalans play at Spartak Moscow in a UEFA Champions League match from Group G which will see Barca look to bounce back from a shock 2-1 defeat to Celtic last time out in Europe.
However, before then Barca have the small matter of a league game against Zaragoza where a win is needed if they are to continue to keep a three point lead at the top ahead of second-placed Atletico Madrid.
"We are aware of the importance of Moscow on Tuesday, but there's a game at home on Saturday too," Vilanova said on the Barcelona website.
"You can't relax in such a high-level league. Zaragoza is more important because it's the next game.
"Most teams want to play well against Barca and Real Madrid. If we always won it wouldn't be very exciting. You have to play every game, and none of them are easy."
Vilanova will be able to call upon skipper Carles Puyol for Saturday's game with Zaragoza. The defender has recovered in time from his elbow injury to provide a boost for the league leaders.
"In principle, he's fit and in the squad. Because it was an elbow injury, he was able to start playing quite quickly," Vilanova said.
"We all know how important he is."
