    baras para meRa anghaN maiN chandni ki tarha

    nazar bacha ke jisay dekhtey thai meraY hareef
    sama gaya meRi ankhooN maiN roshni ki tarha

    hawaa pe jis ke qadam haiN misaal nighat-e-gul
    aseer hai meray sherooN main naghmghi ki tarha

    kahaN ke sher kahaN ki gazal ye zahaN ki roo
    bikhar gaye meray kaagaz pe sha’eri ki tarha

    zubaan khuli hai tu dil phuut para hai surat-e-gul
    wagaRna hum be thai gum ap maiN kali ki tarha

    ye dhoop cha’ooN hai dunia ki khud mera saya
    meray kareeb se guzraa hai ajnabi ki tarha

    gham-e-zamana se dil tang thai bohat baqir
    simat ke rah gaye ahsaas be-kasi ki tarha..
