The spokesman of Pakistan Super League has termed the news reported in a section of media about shifting of the venue of PSL outside Pakistan based on speculation.

"The news to shift the venue of PSL outside Pakistan does not hold any merit and is totally baseless," he said

PCB chief Ashraf says ”conspirators” behind isolation of Pakistan in cricket world

Karachi, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Zaka Ashraf has said he believes there is a conspiracy to keep Pakistan isolated in the cricket world.
The Nation quoted Ashraf, as saying that there are elements who don”t want to see the revival of international cricket in Pakistan and neither do they want the Super League Twenty20 tournament to be held on time.
However, Ashraf said, that ten PCB has not given up hope and are confident of organizing the super league T20. Ashraf said arrangements for the super league were continuing at full steam.
The PCB chief admitted that at present Pakistan cricket was going through difficult times.
He said the board believes that international cricket can be held in Pakistan safely.
There have been reports that the PCB having the option of holding majority of the super league matches in the UAE and just holding the knockout games in Pakistan if the reputed players are not given NOC”s by their respective boards for the PSL.
The managing director of the PSL, Salman Butt last week said in an official statement that they had succeeded in signing around 50 overseas players who would now need to get NOC”s from their respective boards to play in the PSL.

LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League (PSL), the country’s upcoming T20 tournament has been postponed. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the new schedule for the tournament will be announced later.

The decision to postpone the tournament was taken in order to give investors and broadcasters more time to prepare. According to a PCB press release, “The concerns expressed by the stakeholders on tight timelines for submission of bids & leveraging of assets, hold merit."

The tournament was originally scheduled to take place from 26 March to 7 April.

Managing Director PSL said:

“We have been trying to weigh the pros and cons of going along with the stated timelines and scheduling the event as per plans in March - April 2013. The decision to move away from the planned dates of PSL is an extremely difficult one but for the benefit of all stakeholders and the League, the PCB Management has decided to reschedule the event and move it to a period where there are less scheduling conflicts, and the stakeholders get enough time to develop their business plans.”

Chairman PCB said:

“We are extremely encouraged by the response to our League from various stakeholders from across the world. Looking at the response it gives us a lot of confidence that our League is a success. We envisage that as suggested, the shift in our timelines will drive more interested stakeholders towards PSL and make this one of the most sought after League in the cricketing world.”

The decisions would means that all bid timelines announced for PSL have been extended. The PCB has already formed a committee to look for a slot more feasible to the investors to reschedule PSL, and shall soon announce fresh event dates and timelines for the sale of various commercial rights.
