3 4 2013 90704 l - Pakistanis reaches Qatar Junior Open Squash semi-finals

Two Pakistanis Nouman Khan and Ali Nasir took berth into the last four of the Qatar Junior Open Squash Tournament being played under the aegis of Qatar Squash Federation at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
The event is an Asian Squash Federation Junior Super Series Silver and a World Squash Federation (WSF) World Junior Circuit event, organized by Qatar Squash Federation.

Participants will receive WSF ranking points in Under-19 and ASF ranking points in all other categories.

The players from all across the world are competing in different age group categories comprising Under-19, U-17, U-15, U-13 and U-11 categories.

The Qatar Junior Open will be followed by Doha Junior Open to be scheduled from March 6-10.

In the competition Qatar`s Abdullah Al Tamimi defeated compatriot Ahmad Eleyan in three straight games to coast into the semi-finals of the Qatar Junior Open tournament.

The top seed registered an 11-3, 11-7, 11-8 win to set up a last four clash with Pakistan’s Noman Khan in the Under-19 category.

Khan defeated Musaab Kassim of Sri Lanka 11-4, 11-3, 11-5 in the last eight clashes.

In the other semi-final clash, Shaun Kwan Ka Junn of Malaysia will take on Ali Nasir of Pakistan.

Ali Nasir of Pakistan in the quarter-final defeated Mohammed Ferman Hasan of Iran by 11-5, 11-4, and 11-0 (3-0). Ka Junn’s on the other hand defeated Absar Ahmad of Pakistan 11-3, 11-7, 11-3. (APP)
