Naik asks PCB to stop fresh hiring before constitution
ISLAMABAD: Federal law minister Farooq H. Naik asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to stop fresh appointments in the board until the new PCB constitution is not formulated. Farooq Naik, who is heading the committee set up for making amendments in the constitution of the Pakistan Cricket Board, presided over the meeting of the committee here on Thursday.The meeting was attended by federal sports minister Aftab Jilani, chairman PCB Ijaz Butt, chief operating officer Saleem Altaf, director general Javed Miandad, captain national cricket team Shoaib Malik, former cricketers and the representatives of the regional associations.Farooq H. Naik said at the meeting that amendments should be made in one month and all fresh appointments in the PCB be stopped.On this occasion, chairman PCB Ijaz Butt said that the amendments should not be made hastily and they should be made after the Indian team’s tour and the ICC Champions Trophy.
