    gram flour 1/2 cup
    potato 2 medium sized
    salt 1/2 tsp
    red chili flakes 1 tsp
    cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
    water to make paste
    oil fro frying

first slice the potatoes (now, its totally upto you, how thick you like)

    DSC09544 - * July Cooking Competetion *

in a mixing bowl, add gram flour, salt, red chili flakes and cumin seeds

    DSC09527 - * July Cooking Competetion *

    make a paste with water...

(now, that's again up to your preference... how thick batter you make - if u make thick you will get thick layer over potatoes... but if you keep batter runny... your potatoes will get a very thin layer on top - i prefer runny... try both )

    add the sliced potatoes

    DSC09548 - * July Cooking Competetion *

deep fry them on medium high flame... till you get desired color on top

    DSC09549 - * July Cooking Competetion *

sprinkle some chat masala and serve

    Mix Fruits Chat,,
Fruits are a gift of nature. They contain vitamins and other minerals which are healthy for the skin and provide a natural energy source. Fruits are good for gaining nutrition and contain glucose. It's the most delicious and obvious dish of summer Ramadan.

    Ingredients:
Fruit (Apple, Mango, Banana, Apricot, Melon, peach etc..)
    Sugar
    Cream

    Method:
Cut and mix all the fruits in a big bowl. Pour some sugar to taste and sift through it. Add cream and refrigerate it for a few minutes. Pour a little orange juice to make it a watery base. Make sure you do not pour a lot since the fruits dehydrate and give out some water too. Pour some chat masala and stir it. Serve in bowls.

    Samosas

    Yields 36 samosas.

1 package TYJ Spring Roll Pastry (25 count)
    1-1 1/2 pounds ground beef
    2-3 cloves garlic
    Small knob of ginger, grated
    1 onion, diced
    2 tsp. ground cumin
    2 tsp. ground corriander
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cayenne
    1/2 bunch chopped cilantro
    Oil for frying

Saute onions until translucent. Add ginger and garlic and cook until fragrant. Add ground beef and spices (you may want to start with half the amount of spices listed above and then add more spices, seasoning to your preference. The potency of ground spices tends to vary between brands). Brown ground beef, making certain all of the ground beef juices have burned off. Remove from heat and let the ground beef cool. The mixture should be almost completely dry at this point. Add chopped cilantro.

Peel off two sheets of spring roll pastry at a time. Cut the double sheet into thirds. Keep the remainder of the pastry sheets under a damp towel so they do not dry out.

Fold each third (double sheet) into open-ended triangle. Fill with meat mixture. Complete folding into a triangle and seal with a flour/water paste. You should have one pastry sheet remaining at the end. That is the samosa folder's reward. Fry that baby up and eat it while you're waiting for your samosas to dry out.

Dry the folded samosas in the refrigerator. Store in a ziploc bag and freeze. Fry as needed. I imagine you could spray the samosas with a non-stick spray and bake them but this is simply conjecture. If I'm going to eat samosas, they're going to be fried samosas.

Serve with a dip of your choice. Ketchup is a completely acceptable, and quite possibly, perfect dip.

    Cafe Mocha

    Ingredients :

1 1/2 cups strong hot brewed coffee
3 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons chocolate syrup, such as Hershey’s
    1 cup ice cold milk
    1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
    Handful or so crushed ice
Lightly sweetened whipped cream, for garnish

    Making Method :

1 small piece semisweet or bittersweet chocolate, for garnish
    1. Combine the hot coffee and brown sugar in a large measuring cup and stir until the brown sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and stir in the chocolate syrup. Transfer to a shallow bowl. Cool briefly at room temperature, then chill until ice cold. You can accelerate this step by putting it in the freezer, but just make sure it doesn’t start to ice.

    2. Combine the chilled coffee, milk, and vanilla in a small pitcher; stir to blend. Divide the coffee between 2 serving glasses, adding a small handful of crushed ice to each. Top each glass with whipped cream then grate a little chocolate over each one. Serve with straws.
