ICC Women’s World T20 Qualifier: Pakistan to defend 112 for title
KARACHI: Rain caused a delay in the final of the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, stretching the tie to its reserve day.
Pakistan after being put into the bats first, compiled a total of 112 for the loss of five wickets. With Sri Lanka set to start their run-chase, rain returned to delay the match with the day’s play called off later due to a wet outfield. The match will be completed today.
Earlier, Nain Abidi anchored Pakistan’s innings, scoring a defiant 45 from 50 deliveries with the help of two boundaries. Bismah Maroof also played well for her unbeaten run-a-ball 35. Both added 82 runs for the third-wicket partnership to help Pakistan set a challenging target.
Chandima Gunaratne was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka, claiming a brace for just seven runs from her quota of four overs.
