    NAPIER: Pakistan were 331 for 3 in their second innings and had secured lead by 83 runs with 7 wickets still remaining at close on the fourth day of third cricket Test match against New Zealand here on Monday, Geo news reported.

    Pakistan lost two quick wickets as MJ Guptill, in his maiden Test cricket over, caught and bowled out two Pakistani left handed openers in first session of the match.

    Also, he succeeded to break 129-run opening stand from Pakistani openners.

    Subsequently, two Pakistani middle order batsmen, skipper Muhammad Yousuf and young Faisal Iqbal slowly paced the innings, forming 128 run solid partnership, which ultimately was broken when Iqbal was dismissed on 67.

    Imran Farhat and Salman Butt respectively accumulated 61 and 66 runs while young Umer Akmal was unbeaten on quick 36 with captain Muhammad Yousuf playing on 89 when the play was stopped due to rain and bad light.

    The match was interrupted by rain on twice occasions today meanwhile; Pakistan had succeeded to take lead by 83 runs with seven wickets in hands and last day to go when play was called off due to rain.

    NAPIER: Pakistan were 347 for 4 in their second innings and had secured lead by 99 runs with 6 wickets still remaining at close on the fourth day of third cricket Test match against New Zealand here on Monday, Geo news reported.

    NAPIER: The third cricket Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand has ended in draw due to rain interruption during the last session of the final day and the series remained level by 1-1, Geo news reported.

    According to details, Pakistan could only manage to score 108 runs in today’s play losing six wickets while Kiwis, given a difficult target of 208 runs to chase in just 40 overs, were running for catch aggressively and had piled 90-0 in just 19 overs.

    They needed another 118 runs from possibly 18 overs when rain delayed the match and it was finally ended in draw.

    BJ Watling smashed quick 60 off just 62 balls with 9 boundaries and 1 out of the park.

    Pak should have won NZ series: Bari

    ISLAMABAD: PCB’s Chief Operating Officer Wasim Bari Wednesday said that Pakistan should have won the series against New Zealand.

    While talking to the media at Bhutto cricket ground in Islamabad, he expressed that Australian tour would be tough for the cricket team. He further said that several options are under consideration for Indo-Pak series.

    “I am doubtful about the fielding and fitness level of the national cricket team”, he added.

    Bari told that he has advised Younis Khan to play for Pakistan and Younis has confirmed his availability for the final match of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

    While answering a question, he said that PCB is serious about making a cricket stadium in Islamabad.
