Nadal masters Federer yet again

Roger Federer's victory over Juan MartÃ+n Del Potro on Friday made Rafael Nadal the heavy favourite ahead of the first ATP World Tour Finals semi-final in London.
The Majorcan has proven time and time again that he has the measure of the Swiss maestro and came into the tournament on the back of a far superior year, with 10 titles - including two Grand Slams - compared to Federer's measly one, captured on grass in Halle.
The Spaniard's 22-10 record in 32 meetings with his old foe remains one of the key arguments against the idea that Federer is the greatest player of all time. He may have won an unmatched 17 Grand Slam titles, but he has consistently failed to get the better of Nadal, 27, who looks poised to break this and many other records.
The worst thing that can happen in sport is when the result is predictable and Nadal never looked in doubt during a 7-5 6-3 victory that left Fed as blue as the surface at the O2 Arena.
Federer initially kept pace with Nadal and unleashed several vintage forehands. However, as so often in the past, the Majorcan simply proved too consistent and, helped by 32 unforced errors from the Swiss ace, the world no. 1 now stands on the brink of equalling Andre Agassi's unique trophy collection by capturing the only major title to have eluded him thus far.
