Pressure Cooker Chana Pulao
2 cups rice
4 cups water
2 tsp oil
4 cloves
small piece of cinnamon
1/2 cup onions, chopped
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 cup tomatoes
4 tsp Shan pulao biryani masala*
1 cup boiled chane
chopped mint and cilantro
Wash and soak rice (no longer than 15 minutes). Set aside.
Heat pressure cooker. Add oil, cloves and cinnamon. Let cook for 30 seconds. Add onions and cook until translucent (about 4-5 minutes). Add garlic ginger paste and cook 2-3 minutes. Add a little water if the paste is sticking. Add pulao biryani masala with a few teaspoons of water. Let cook 2-3 minutes. Add tomatoes and cook until soft (about 5 minutes). Add channa, and drained rice, and stir to combine. Add water and pressure cook for 3 whistles or until rice has absorbed all water and are soft.
Serve with raita.
