Stanislas Wawrinka beats an injured Rafa Nadal and wins de Australian Open. The swiss, playing in the Grand Slam final of his career , dominated the first set and broke early in the second when The Spaniard showed the first signs of a back injury. Wawrinka survived a third set wobble to beat Nadal (6-3 6-2 3-6 and 6-3).
Wawrinka will become the new Swiss number one, ahead of Roger Federer, and climb to third in the world rankings.
