KARACHI: Zimbabwe-born Pakistani actress Mathira gave birth to a baby boy yesterday in Karachi, ARY News has learnt.

Mathira got married one year back which she kept secret. According to sources, Mathira quoted as saying that only close relatives and friends know about her marriage. She refused to disclose her husband’s name but told that her husband is a foreign national and doesn’t belong to showbiz industry.

Mathira was born in Harare to an African father and Pakistani mother. She is the younger of two daughters. Her family moved to Pakistan in the year 1993 due to political instability in Zimbabwe.

Mathira has done an item number ‘Masti Mein Doobi Raat Hai’ in the film ‘Main Hoon Shahid Afridi’ starring ‘Humayun Saeed’ but recently she refused to do another for Sahir Lodhi’s debut feature film ‘Mausam’.

The actress stated that the reason why she has refused to do the item song is because she would not be doing any more item numbers in films and her preference is to work for female lead role only.
