17126 - Not Vidya, Raveena to play Benazir Bhutto on-screen
It is not Vidya Balan but Raveena Tandon has been approached to play late Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. Raveena is so impressed with the script that she is planning to produce the film as well.

A source says, "A couple of days ago, Raveena had a meeting with the scriptwriter and he narrated the subject to her. She has read the script and liked it too. It is a powerful character and she is keen to take it up."

The source adds, "The story is loosely based on Bhutto's life. Raveena has suggested some changes in the script and once they are accommodated, she will start looking for a director and finalise the rest of the cast as well."

It was earlier reported that Vidya has been roped in for the project but the report turned out to be false. “I would not like to say anything about any biopic right now,” added Balan.

Recently, Raveena Tandon hit the headlines for walking out of Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet' for change of script.

“I am no longer a part of ‘Bombay Velvet’. Eveything has changed. The whole scenario of movie has changed now. I had finished shooting my part too but there were a lot of changes in the sequences… So, I told Anurag that I will not do this film. I will work with him in his next project,” Raveena told PTI.
