ISLAMABAD: Test Cricketer and former captain Younus Khan said on Thursday that he had always preferred to play for Pakistan and if invited by the board he will definitely play Pakistan Super League.
"Different leagues have offered me to play for them but my priority has always remained Pakistan," Younus mentioned while talking to a TV channel.
He said he was an aggressive batsman and ready to play at any number as per will of the captain. "I take every task as a challenge which is the reason behind my success," he added.
The test cricketer said it was his wish to complete 10,000 runs in Tests, adding, he want that there were five to six more players of Pakistan who could achieve the same milestone.
It was unfortunate that a big name of Pakistan cricket Muhammad Yousuf could not able to score 10,000 runs, he mentioned.
Younus lauded the services of late coach Bob Woolmer terming him as the best of the lot and said Woolmer was a qualified and able coach who worked really hard with the boys.
He said he was a self-made person and worked really hard to make his place in the team. "When I was sidelined for the first time from the team, I promised myself to play cricket for Pakistan even if I turn 50 years old."
The former captain said Yasir Shah was an excellent find and he would emerge to be a really good cricketer for the country.
He termed Khalid Latif and Shahzeb Hassan as best players of T20 in Pakistan besides lauding the services of Danish Kineria for the country. - APP
