QUETTA: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said previous governments capitalized on Balochistan issues for their own mileage, ARY News reported.
He was addressing a ceremony after inaugurating Gwadar-Turbat-Hoshab Motorway (M-8). The motorway has been completed at the cost of 13 billion rupees in 18 months. The ceremony was also attended by Army Chief General Raheel Sharif among other dignitaries.
The PM said completion of motorway projects will bring people closer. “We have transformed a dream into reality,†he added.
Mr. Sharif said Gwadar will become an important city of Pakistan after completion of development projects. He underlined that government was constructing network of roads to connect all parts of country with each other for development.
‘Thank you Raheel Sharif’
The prime minister said he is thankful to General Raheel Sharif for taking personal interest in Balochistan.
He stated Balochsitan was rich in mineral resources and “the government is bringing it at par with other provinces.â€
We are initiating several energy projects that will reduce power crisis. Work on Lahore-Karachi motorway has begun.
He insisted on initiating Hyderabad to Sukkur motorway.
