One of the highest grossing films of 2012, Kabir Khan’s spy drama Ek Tha Tiger that featured Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles is all set for a sequel. Titled Tiger Zinda Hai, the sequel stars the two as spies, yet again, who’ll come together to fight a common enemy. While Khan will be seen sporting different looks from ages 17 to 70, Kaif will be performing a series of stunts and sequences for which she will train.
“She [Katrina] would do some hardcore action in the film for which she will begin training soon,” according to report in The Indian Express. “Though many top actresses were vying for the highly coveted role, it was Katrina who bagged it. The film is tailor-made for her to shine as she has been cast opposite Salman.”
Tiger Zinda Hai is going to be high on action as the film’s tagline says, “An Indian agent. A Pakistani agent. Against a common enemy.” The actress will go through rigorous training for her role in the film.
The sequel is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, who is riding high on the success of Salman Khan-starrer Sultan. Shooting for the film will begin in March next year. The film is aiming for a December 2017 release, a slot that is usually filled by Aamir Khan.
Kaif’s last three films, Phantom, Fitoor and the recent Baar Baar Dekho, have bombed at the box office. A film with Salman Khan can change all that and Kaif knows it too.
