Swami Omji Maharaj accused of blackmail, extortion and possession
Controversies come hand in hand with Bigg Boss. And this year is no different. The most controversial contestant of Bigg Boss 10 is undoubtedly Swami Omji Maharaj, who is also known as Vinodanand Jha in the smaller circles. Yes, many of you might not know this, but this self styled Godman has way too many court cases surrounding him. And we give you a lowdown of all the charges that he is facing.
Bicycle thief – First, let’s start by telling you that the man in question is a bicycle thief. Yep, you read that right! The case dates back to November 2008 wherein Om Swami was accused by his brother Pramodh Jha of breaking the lock of his bicycle shop in Lodhi Colony along with three other men before stealing 11 bicycles, spare parts, sale deed of the house and some other important documents. According to Jha, his son had seen Om Swami breaking into the shop and commit the theft. The police then booked him for trespassing and theft. In fact, he has been issued four bailable warrants in this case. The Delhi Court had fixed October 14 (that’s two days before the premiere of Bigg Boss 10) for hearing. However, when nobody appeared to represent him, non-bailable warrants were issued against him. And thanks to these warrants, he might land in jail for not appearing in the court next time.
Arms Case – This one is shocking. The man is also said to be involved in seven cases under the arms act and TADA. Yes, if an investigation report of Delhi police is anything to go by then he was exposed by Defense Colony officials, who found arms and ammunition in his possession.
That’s not it. Swami is also alleged to keep obscene photos of women in his possession. He reportedly used them to extort money. He has six brothers and four sisters, who have also lodged several complaints against him.
We bet if the viewers are already not shocked by the statements that he has been making inside the house, these fresh revelations will certainly appall them.
