Nitrogen is developed by microfi and is a mp3 player for the windows mobile devices. If you are looking for an audio player then Nitrogen might be the one for you. There are however many mp3 players available but it’s always good to have some change. Nitrogen player supports the touch feature so I don’t think any of the users will experience any difficulty in using this application.



Nitrogen player has all the features which any mp3 player must have. You can play music from your phone memory or from the memory card directly. You can also create your own playlists and edit them later on. In the previous versions of Nitrogen player there was no support to skins but in its latest version 2.0, the skin support is also included. Keep on changing the skin regularly to bring a new look to the player.

Nitrogen player also has a file browser which is quite easy to use and it also supports “Shuffle” and “Repeat” modes. To save the battery power, Nitrogen player also has a built in sleep mode feature and an option to blank the screen so as to save battery. Moreover to help save battery Nitrogen player uses a very light decoder called MAD decoder which runs in the background and consumes negligible battery power.

Since Nitrogen player was developed to overcome the lack of finger friendly application for windows mobile, it has big icons so that you can navigate through the library easily. However whats lacks in Nitrogen player is an equalizer which is a very important ingredient for the making of any mp3 players, this is where Nitrogen player disappoints me. To add to the disappointment Nitrogen player doesn’t have support for all the formats.
