Mirpur Test: BD need 267 runs, SL require 5 wickets
MIRPUR: Bangladesh need further 267 runs to win the first Test against Sri Lanka with five wickets remaining here on Tuesday.
On the fourth day of the match, Sri Lanka resumed their second innings at 291-5 and declared at 405-6 after adding 114 runs.
Captain Mahela Jayawarthane was the main scorer with 166.
Chasing a mammoth target of 520 runs, Bangladesh made 243 for five when play ended on the fourth day of the match.
Skipper Mohammad Ashraful was batting on 70 and Shakib-ul-Hasan remained not out on 34 and both have so far added 74 runs.
Earlier, Tamim Iqbal scored 47 and Junaid Siddiq made 37 runs.
Muttiah Muralitharan captured three wickets and he has so far grabbed eight wickets in the match.
