LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan cricket selection committee Abdul Qadir said that he is in favour of separate captains for Test and One-day International teams.
Talking with media here at the Gaddafi Stadium, former Test cricketer Abdul Qadir said that the preparation has already been planned for the forthcoming series against Sri Lanka.
He said that the PCB favours two while he wants to hold four practice matches and these would be 12-a-side matches.
The chief selector said that in his opinion, these matches should be held at the same venues where the matches of the series would be played and the wickets should be fast so that the players would get full opportunity to get prepared.
Replying to a question, Abdul Qadir said that chairman Ijaz Butt wants to retain Shoaib Malik as captain and he respects his decision but he understands that it would be more beneficial if the series to series captains would be appointed separately for Test and ODIs.
