Twenty20 Cricket World Cup in England from June 5
KARACHI: The second Twenty20 Cricket World Cup will be held at different venues of England from June 5 to 21, 2009, as information received here on Thursday.
Twelve teams, divided into four groups, will participate in the 16-day tournament.
The robin league will be played between June 5 to 10, the super eight round from June 11 to 16.
Reigning Champion India will defend their title in the event which they won at Johannesburg in August 2007 with thrilling victory over Pakistan.
Two top teams from the round robin league will qualify for the super eight round.
The 2007 winners India along with Bangladesh and Ireland are placed in group ‘A’ while group ‘B’ will consist of Pakistan, England and the Netherlands. Group “C” will have Australia, Sri Lanka and the West Indies whereas New Zealand, Scotland and South Africa are placed in group ‘D’.

June 10: Sri Lanka v West Indies, Trent Bridge, Nottingham
