It seems that with the dimensions that the iphone has lent to the developers, they are just developing application for about anything you can imagine. The applications are developed with the aim of exploiting the power house of the iphone rather than thinking about the uses of the application as to where it can be used. One such application is called iHandy Level.



iHandy is actually a set of tools which aims at performing the same function as the function performed by most of the carpenter’s tools. One of the applications from the iHandy tool box is called iHandy Level Free which is just to demonstrate that the tool can actually replicate a carpenter’s tool. iHandy Level is basically a very simple calibration tool which functions same as a spirit level and turns the iphone or ipod touch into a calibrator.



Since there is nothing much in the application, it has to be quite simple therefore the application has only 2 buttons to work with. One is for calibration purposes and the other is to hold the position you are currently holding. The above two lines to a large extent sums up the entire functionality of the application. However there is a feature which allows you to switch between vertical and horizontal display. Well that’s very much it.

One thing that is really troubling me is that which carpenter in the world would want to risk such a costly iphone on the cheap tools. One more thing I can’t figure out is that suppose there is someone that daring to use his iphone but then also if he can’t get the same accuracy, why would he use this application. So overall, this application offer no more help than helping you in passing your time when you are really getting bored, that too may be.
