Organizers say IPL to go ahead as scheduled

MUMBAI: Indian Premier League organizers says the Twenty20tournament will be played across eight Indian cities as originally scheduled from April 10-May 24.

IPL commissioner Lalit Modi said there would be some changes to the schedule to avoid clashes with polling in India''s national elections.

``We want to assure cricket fans and everyone involved with event that the IPL is on,'''' Modi said, asserting that arranging security for the players and spectators was not a problem. India''s federal Home Minister declared the IPL safe to proceed.
