IPL’s revised dates announced, opening ceremony on Apr 10
MUMBAI: The new dates of the matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) have been announced here on Tuesday.
IPL commissioner Lalith Modi told in a media briefing that the inauguration ceremony of the IPL would be held on April 10 at Mumbai.
He said that $15 million have been spent in the second auction of the IPL in which seven new players would be included during the current year while two new venues – Visakhapatnum and Ahmedabad – have also been added.
Modi said that strict security would be arranged for all matches and all the security arrangements would be centralized.
He told that both the opening and the concluding ceremonies would be held in Mumbai.
Lalith Modi said that further work on the IPL schedule is going on.
He said that advertisements worth Rs90 billion were collected last year where ads of Rs1.7 billion have been added this year.
