Recently the iphone market is flooded with free applications and especially the newsreaders. One of them is called HuffingtonPost.com which is also released under the category of the newsreader applications and there is nothing that I can say as new in this application. All these application are somewhat same providing approximately the same features and functionality. Some of the other famous applications under this category are the New York Times, Mobile News Network Powered by AP and USA Today
After the installation part is complete, when you launch then application for the first time you see is a list of current opinion and news stories. I don’t think I need to explain much about the interface of the application as its very simple and well explained. Click on the links you want to proceed with and you’ll be able to catch up with HuffPost stories in entertainment, living, business, style, green, world and comedy. It’s really simple and well put up for the users.
Another good thing about the application is that it plays the video in the flash format. Suppose you are viewing a news articles and there is a link to a video then you just need to tap on that link a white space will appear where the flash video will be played. It’s just like windows, if your iphone lacks flash player you will see a red icon pointing to download flash for your iphone link.
However the application differs in one respect and that being the content it has to show to its users. It means that the application basically provides articles that are politics related. Moreover just like many other newsreader clients that show a lot of ads, HuffingtonPost.com does not show any ads, atleast not uptill now.
