What can you guess about the application from its name? I say, the name says it all what this application is all about but to understand the meaning, you need to know Japanese. The term Purikura is a short form of “purinto kurabu” which comes from Japanese and its meaning when translated to English becomes print club. I guess that will be sufficient to give you a hint about the application.
The application basically allows the user to style the photographs or to put it more correctly, the application is a photo sticker collection from where you can select the stick-ons you want to paste on the photograph to style it. Along with the sticker thing you can also add various stamps, frames, text and other decorations. So you can add effects as you want and also have the option of saving your work and resuming it later on when you get time. Moreover you also have the option of using the saved work as wallpapers and screensavers.
Just looking at how the application is made, I would say it will certainly attract the teenager girls who love to add butterfly frames and hearts around the picture. You can also write on your pics and add text to the images in any colour you want to. Putting it all in a simple manner, the application is basically a highly customizable photo styling application. When you are satisfied with you have done, you can also share the pics with your friends over the email.
However I feel that the application could not handle the huge bundle of features it has got. It crashed a lot but at the same time the developers have taken care that even if the application crashed you don’t end up losing the job at hand, it is automatically recovered. Now that covers up for the little flaw it has but it’s still annoying when you are in middle of something and it crashes. The whole chain of thoughts gets broken.
