JOHANNESBURG: Fayyaz Ahmed of the United Arab Emirates has been reported for a suspicious bowling action during the 2011 Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament in South Africa.

An umpires report of their Super 8 match against Canada on Wednesday said "Ahmed bowls with a suspect action which is accentuated when bowling the doosra".

Ahmed claimed one Canadian wicket as UAE pulled off a shock five-wicket victory to keep alive hopes of filling one of three World Cup places up for grabs when the final qualifiers are staged Friday.

He is eligible for the match against Scotland, but the International Cricket Council has told the UAE cricket board to assess the action of the left-arm slow bowler.
