LAHORE: Pakistan coach Intikhab Alam said on Tuesday that the performance of beleaguered fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar was not up to the mark in Australian series. But added that he was very impressed with the leadership of skipper Younis Khan.

Speaking to reporters at LCCA Ground here, Alam said that the Bhurban conditioning camp would help the players improve their fitness level.

He said that players would try to remove their weaknesses noted in the recently concluded one-day series against the world champions.

To a question, he hoped that team would put up a good show in the upcoming Twenty 20 World Cup.

The coach denied that any player had violated the night curfew during Australian series in United Arab Emirates.
