LAHORE: Rawalpindi Rams defeated Quetta Bears by nine wickets in the National Twenty20 cricket championship here at the LCCA Ground on Wednesday.
Batting first, Quetta could score 127 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Captain Taimur Ali (38) and Farhan Khan (27) were the main scorers.
For Rawalpindi, Mohammad Aamir captured three wickets while Sohail Tanvir and Naveed Ashraf claimed two wickets each.
In reply, Rawalpindi achieved the target of 128 runs in just 12.5 overs for the loss of only one wicket.
Naveed Malik smashed an 73 from 37 balls with 12 fours and two sixes while Awais Zia scored 50 off 38 balls with six fours and one six. Both made 128 runs for their unbroken second wicket partnership.
