Akmal helps Lahore Lines qualify for final in National T20

LAHORE: The Lahore Lines have registered their entry in the final of the national Twenty20 tournament following their victory against Islamabad Leopards by three wickets here at Gaddafi Stadium late on Thursday, Geo news reported.

Lahore Lines opted to field first having won the toss and managed to restrict their opponents at 123 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Naseem Anjum (37), Fayyaz Ahmed and Ammad Waseem (24) each were the top scorers from Leopards while Abdul Razzaq, Muhammad Naveed and Sohail Ahmed shared 2 wickets each sending six players back to pavilion.

Replying the ask, the Lahore Lines, initially trembling in their innings, could manage to achieve target for the loss of seven wickets into the last over of the match as Kamran Akmal, shining with the bat, struck 27 off 18 balls to take his side to home in difficult waters.

Imran Farhat (33) and Salman Butt (25) were the other prominent performers from Lahore Lines.
