Mr charming of bollywood
Saif Ali Khan may be the new Prince of Bollywood but the title of Mr Charming of Bollywood goes to none other than Shahid Kapoor. Apparently, the cute actor has suddenly turned into hot property and actresses are checking their date dairies so that they can work with him. Call this an after Jab We Met effect or his single status after he broke off with his longtime girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, but Shahid is now on a roll. One actress who is extremely fond of him is Jiah Khan. The two were cast opposite each other in Star, but apparently since Jiah is also doing Aamir Khan's Ghajini, she couldn't chalk out her dates. Then there were rumours of Katrina Kaif being roped in for Star, and there were also talks of how Salman Khan was dead against his girlfriend acting with Shahid. Now we hear that Jiah has somehow convinced the Ghajini filmmakers on dates issue and got herself back in Star. "Katrina was also very keen to work with Shahid. She genuinely made attempts to re-schedule her dates,” says a friend of Kats?

New Item Girl
Yana Gupta is passé.. we have a new item girl in town. She's none other than Saif Ali Khan's ex girlfriend Rozza. Close on the heels of her item number in Shaurya, she has bagged another item number in Sunny Deol's Chamku, which has Rozza dancing on a trendy number which is sung in many languages. The song has been choreographed by Ahmed Khan.

Bearded Akshay
Akshay Kumar was given the option of being a clean-shaven Sardar, but he decided against the idea of being beardless and actually grew one for the role. Though Bollywood has in the past shown Sikh characters without beards, Akshay's rationale was that a beard of a Sikh is one of the five sacred insignia of his religion. However, veteran actor Om Puri had other ideas and had to forego the beard in Singh Is King, but all for a valid reason. "Like Amit ji my face is allergic to beards. I get rashes from facial hair. So, I played the character with all the other mandatory requirements except the beard," he says. Hopefully, the 'beard' won't come in the way of the film's fate at the box office.

Ameesha Opts Out, Lara Steps In
Priyadarshan is busy working on Billoo Barber. The film, produced by Shah Rukh Khan will have the actor playing himself in the movie. Only recently, Ameesha Patel was to play a part in this one, but she opted out of the film because she felt that her role was insignificant. Hottie Lara Dutta has stepped into Ameesha's shoes. Given that Lara is on a high after the success of Partner and got some appreciation for Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, she will definitely not succumb to any aaltu-faltu role. So Amu's 'insignificant' excuse is just not digestible. And with her being rather 'insignificant' on the Bollywood circuit right now, we're not so sure if she should be rubbing some people the wrong way.


Yana goes BLonde
Item girl Yana Gupta has gone blonde these days. The +++y damsel claims she was at the salon for about five hours, and that her blonde look is helping her be anonymous. "It's good that not many people recognise me, now that I've coloured my hair!" she says. Yeah, like many people were intruding on her privacy! Is the blonde colour responsible for this 'dumbness'…er, misconception?

Badman with a hand of steel
Gulshan Gover is currently focussing on the multi-crore Himesh Reshammiya-starrer Karzzz. The film is in the news for the expensive look that Gulshan is sporting in the film. "We have a 'hand' that's made of pure steel and imported gadgets, the cost of the hand put together is around Rs 25 lakhs. This is for the first time in the history of Bollywood that we have created something unique like this," says a unit member. While Gulshan is upbeat about his new gadget, the special steel hand is the brainchild of director Satish Kaushik. As for Himesh, he will not only have to fight Badman, but also his steel gadget, now that's going to be a visual treat!

What's up with Dino Morea and Koena Mitra? It's rather strange, but true! Both the actors skipped the music release of their film Anamika. While the director Anant Mahadevan kept assuring the waiting media that both, Dino and Koena, are on their way, they never turned up and it was left to the only star present Minissha Lamba to give her media bytes and promote the film. We wonder why Dino and Koena suddenly chickened out at the last minute. Did they come to know the fate of the film already? Hmm... sounds like telepathy to us!

Weight Loss campaign
While all his friends and contemporaries are beefing up and obtaining six-packs, Riteish Deshmukh is doing the exact opposite. He is working out to lose weight. Apparently, that's needed for his role in Sujoy Ghosh's Aladdin in which "Riteish is supposed to look like a very young boy. He has already lost a lot of weight. Put a satchel on his back and he's going to look just like a school boy," says a unit member.

Greatly inspired
Amrita Arora has got something innovative and super hot up her sleeve. It's known that the actress, who has been greatly inspired by best friend Kareena Kapoor's new found figure, has taken diligently to yoga and eating right. So, if Kareena has been noticed and appreciated for her 'haute' look in Tashan, Amrita seems to be following suit. Great going, Amu!

Hitting the music notes
Putting the recent controversies behind her, Celina Jaitley has gone back to the board. The piano board, that is. She took piano lessons as a child, and was apparently quite good at it. Of course, as her filmi career took off, she started dancing to Bollywood's tunes. But don't worry, there is no talent lost here. Celina is hitting the musical notes again. Sometime ago her parents gifted her a piano, so now she is back to her piano lessons and wishes to pursue it seriously.


The number game
Ishaa Koppikar is still not satisfied with the way her career was shaping up, she consulted numerologist Niraj Mancchanda who counselled that she spell her name as Eesha Koppikhar. According to Niraj, "Eesha is a number 1, she is born on September 19 and I have got her name to a number 55 which the Greeks would use before going for any war. The number 55 symbolises victory and valour. It spells success in everything you undertake. It is also a number used as a lucky charm. The year 2008 will take Eesha to a different league,he further adds." Let's see how Koppikhar copes with number 55!

Quick fix solution
Aarti Chhabria was recently in New Delhi for a dance performance. Minutes before she got onto the stage, the zip of her ghaghra gave way, but Aarti didn't fret-n-fume. She simply went into her green room and did some good patch up job by using safety pins. "I didn't want to keep the crowd waiting, and this seemed to be the best quick fix solution that time," she said. And the event went off smoothly with no wardrobe malfunction making news

Dancing on a different tune
While director-choreographer Farah khan is busy looking after her sweet little triplets, there are other choreographers helping Shah Rukh with his dance steps. For Priyadarshan's Billoo Barber, a product of SRK's production house, it's Pony Verma who is choreographing all the dances in the movie. "It's probably the first time that Farah Khan isn't choreographing for a Shah Rukh film," informs a unit member. But the new mom isn't complaining, and may also silently be planning a quick and effective comeback!
