English badminton team leaves India due to security fears

HYDERABAD, India: England pulled out of the world badminton championships on Sunday because of terrorist fears and left India for their home.

The controversial decision follows media reports of a specific terrorist threat against the World badminton Championship which starts here on Monday.

According to media reports, a terrorist organization threatened to target the event after which security of players was tightened.

However, the England squad returned back despite high security arrangements.

As per the English Badminton Federation, the players were called back after consultations with their foreign office.
