We can qualify for semis in Champions Trophy: Younis Khan
KARACHI: Pakistan cricket team captain Younis Khan said that Pakistan can qualify for the semi-finals in the Champions Trophy.
In an interview with Faizan Lakhani of Geo News, Younis Khan said that if we play on our basis then we have a very good chance and we can reach the semi-finals.
Replying to a question on bowling, he said that we are taking five pace bowlers. Rana Nave has showed some improvement and Rao Iftikhar also displayed good performance in Sri Lanka but this is not good to expect extra-ordinary performance from Mohammad Asif in this mega event.
Regarding contesting with India, Younis Khan said that the match against India in the Champions Trophy would be the fourth in his captaincy against India and this is his great desire to beat India.

Training camp for Champions Trophy begins tomorrow
LAHORE: Training camp of the Pakistan cricket team will begin tomorrow here at the Gaddafi Stadium for preparation of the Champions Trophy.
Pakistan cricket team coach Intikhab Alam told Geo News that the players have been called to report at 6-30 pm, before Iftar, on the first day at the Gaddafi Stadium.
The timings of the camp will be finalized in the meeting with the players according to their convenience.
He said that the camp would continue under artificial lights of the Gaddafi Stadium.
Physical training will be fully focused during initial days of the camp while lectures for the players from psychiatrist Maqbool Babri have also been arranged.
Younis hopes to reach Champions Trophy final
LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket team captain Younis Khan and coach Intikhab Alam Sunday said the fielding has been the focal point during the national camp, which will help Pakistan boost their performance in Champions Trophy.
They hoped if the players employed their full potential, Pakistan can qualify for the final.
Besides, former test cricketer Jalalud Din said he has a lot of hopes pinned on Pakistani team in Champions Trophy; however, batting line will have to put up a great show for a convincing win.
Onions replaces Flintoff in Champions Trophy
LONDON: Fast bowler Graham Onions has replaced injured Andrew Flintoff in the England squad for the ICC Champions Trophy to be held in South Africa from September 22 to October 5.
The England and Wales Cricket Board said the ICC has conveyed to it that the Champions Trophy event technical committee has approved 26-year-old Onions as Flintoff''s replacement.
Flintoff, who retired from Test cricket after England''s recent Ashes success, was initially named in England''s 15-member Champions Trophy squad but was later ruled out due to a knee injury.
Subsequently, Onions, who is yet to make his one-day international debut, has also been called up to join the England team for their ongoing ODI series against Australia.

KARACHI: Pakistani batsman Salman Butt said he is not disappointed for not being a part of Champions Trophy squad instead of it, he got batting tips from batting maestro Javed Miandad to improve batting.
Talking to Geo News, Salman Butt said he would perform well in domestic tournaments to get the place in national team. He said he is going through tough training sessions to make come back. Butt said he took the batting tips from Javed Miandad which was very useful.
